The two letter domain name QI.com is about to see a huge jump in traffic due to the launch of a new book. Now you are probably wondering why if someone buys a book would that cause growth in traffic for QI.com?
The domain name QI.com is owned by Quite Interesting LTD who have a popular quiz show here in the UK named QI it has been running for the past 10 years but I didn’t know they owned the domain name QI.com until this morning.
I was listening to a radio interview in the car driving to meet a client and they were promoting their new quiz book which is out for Christmas named 1,339 QI Facts to Make Your Jaw Drop this is actually their second book the first was previously was named 1,227 Quite Interesting Facts to Blow Your Socks Off anyway what they have done which I think is really cool and a great way to drive traffic to QI.com all the facts in the book if you don’t believe them they list the fact sources on QI.com – If you visit QI.com/1339-sources/ – You type in the page number and you get the website link to the source where the fact has come from.
This is the second LL.com domain name I have seen being promoted here in the UK – A few weeks ago I wrote about AO.com and now we have QI.com however I haven’t seen any LL.co.uk being heavily promoted I hope this starts to happen soon for all those that invested in LL.co.uk domain names that were auctioned off by Nominet.
