Intuit Inc, has just filed 6 New WIPO Cases to protect there brand Turbo Tax, They operate on the domain name TurboTax.com which was registered 25 years ago back in 1995, for those of you who don’t know what is Turbo Tax here is a blurb from Wikipedia below.
TurboTax is an American tax preparation software package developed by Michael A. Chipman of Chipsoft in mid-1984. Intuit acquired Chipsoft (now known as Intuit Consumer Tax Group), based in San Diego, in 1993. TurboTax for the Mac was originally named MacinTax, and was developed by SoftView. SoftView was in turn purchased by Chipsoft. TurboTax is one of the most commonly used income tax preparation software packages in the United States, along with its main competitors, H&R Block at Home and TaxAct.
Intuit Inc hasn’t won all there WIPO cases, back in 2011 they lost the WIPO Case for the domain name QuickbooksIndia.com & also lost the WIPO case back in 2005 for the domain name MasterBuilder.com
