TRAVERSE LEGAL, PLC OPENS NEW OFFICE IN RICHMOND, VIRGINIA

We are pleased to announce that Traverse Legal, PLC has opened a new office in Richmond, Virginia.  Our newest associate attorney, Julia Bishop, will be located in and leading our Virginia office. While our administrative functions will remain in Traverse City, Michigan, expansion to Virginia is consistent with our strategic growth plans.  We will now be closer to our East Coast clients, and prospective clients alike, and be able to practice in both the federal and state courts in Virginia.

Julia graduated from William & Mary School of Law in Virginia, where she was the Executive Articles Editor of the William & Mary Bill of Rights Journal and externed for the Honorable Rossie D. Alston, Jr. on the Virginia Court of Appeals.  Following law school, she served as a judicial clerk for the Norfolk Circuit Court in the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Virginia.  Julia is a natural fit into Traverse Legal’s ever-growing Intellectual Property and Internet Law practice.  Her past legal experience includes work with Internet law, intellectual property and communications law firms in Richmond, Virginia and in Washington, DC.  Most recently, Julia worked for her former law professor to open and build a boutique Internet and intellectual property law practice in Richmond.  She is licensed to practice in the State of Virginia and is in the process of acquiring her license to practice in the State of New York.

Julia currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Richmond Intellectual Property Law Association and gives back to her Richmond community while serving on the Ampersand Board and development committee of Boaz & Ruth (a community restoration organization) and by serving as the Young Executives at Heart (an arm of the Richmond Chapter of the American Heart Association) Networking Chair and on the Go Red for Women campaign committee.

With this expansion, Traverse Legal furthers its commitment to being there for our clients, wherever they may be.
