Welcome back to Robbie’s Blog, I know it’s been a while since I wrote a post about domain names as I have been super busy juggling work and family life, I had lost touch with domain name news over the past 6 – 9 months but I have made a commitment to myself to get posting again about all things Domains.
So here is the first post “Did the domain name DailyMail.com sell for $1.5 million dollars in 2013?”
I had a look around and might have missed it but I can’t see any specific posts on this news previously.
I came across two articles where one is quoting that the domain name which was owned originally by Charleston Daily Mail and it the claims United Bank wrongfully induced Charleston Newspapers to sell the rights to the dailymail.com domain name for $1.5 million dollars.
They claim it in a court case in this article from 2017 which you can read in full here.
You can read more in the court case here too where it’s stated the domain name was sold for this value in this legal paper for $1.5 Million Dollars.
If Ron Jackson is happy with this evidence which I’ll share to verify, this would rank DailyMail.com as the 4th highest sale of 2013, moving the Domain King’s aka Rick Schwartz sale of EBet.com to the 5th highest spot at $1.35 Million Dollars.
