First Ever Premium .CO Domain Auction for Startup Community

I don’t own many .co domains the two .co domain names that I have are CompareFlights.co and WirelessAlarms.co, CompareFlights.co I had always planned on developing and WirelessAlarms.co which I only purchased this week shall be used for one of my families businesses.

Mike Mann has done exceptionally well with .co domain names that he registered through the Grandfather system by owning .com.co domains he owned.

What are your thoughts on the .CO auction?

So what will the list of .CO domains that are below generate in sales via Sedo.co?

We will just need to wait and see…

If any one is wanting to help build out CompareFlights.co – Drop me an email via the contact us page.

Sedo, the world’s largest domain marketplace and monetization provider, today announced that over 150 premium .CO domain names will be auctioned at special low reserve prices, from November 12-19, 2012, in celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week. The domain names selected for the auction are all short, unique and memorable, with high branding potential for those seeking to launch or grow their business, brand, product or service online.

.CO Internet, the company behind the .CO domain, is partnering with Sedo to make over 50 of its own premium reserved domain names available as part of this special Sedo auction. Some of the URLs being offered include:

  •     robot.co
  •     gadget.co
  •     kicker.co
  •     hot.co
  •     fling.co
  •     rave.co
  •     quiz.co
  •     celeb.co
  •     vivid.co
  •     real.co

The domain names in the startup auction will have reserve prices starting as low as $500 USD.

“The .CO domain was built from the ground up to support entrepreneurs,” said Lori Anne Wardi, the company’s Vice President, “so it’s really exciting for us to help Sedo to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week by making some of the hottest .CO domain names available to cool global startups who will use them to build the businesses and brands that help shape the future.”

“The global startup community has really embraced .CO domains since they were introduced in 2010, with companies like Twitter (t.co), Angel List (angel.co), Google (g.co) and 500 Startups (500.co) helping to drive adoption and consumer awareness,” said Liesbeth Mack-de Boer, Sedo’s Chief Sales Officer. “With such heavyweights paving the way, .CO has become the premier choice for startups who may not be able to register legacy extensions which are often more cost-prohibitive or already registered. For entrepreneurs and start-ups, this premium .CO auction provides a great opportunity to purchase a domain that will help grow their business.”

Sedo sucks. Their website sedo.co cannot even sort names A-to-Z.
